Masayume

Masayume in Japanese means "true dream"-a dream that later comes true. This is the story of Carolyn Winkler's tea house and how it began. It started with a simple dream. Two years later it became a driftwood hut designed for people to leave the cares of the world behind and enjoy Chado (The Way of Tea). To make her dream a reality, Carolyn first meets a Canadian wood artist from Valle de Bravo, Mexico, but this is only the first step on her journey. This book describes the basics of traditional Japanese tea gatherings and shares how Carolyn, her friends, and her guests experience the principles of Chado: Harmony, Respect, Purity, and Tranquility-and how it changed her life.
