Mary, Mary, Not So Ordinary

The characters from Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice return in Volume I of The Adventures of Miss Mary Bennet, in which we discover Mary has been living a lie. That is, until Mr. Bingley and Mr. Darcy raise the Bennet family fortunes. She tosses off the deceptions used to keep suitors at bay-her unnecessary spectacles and annoying manner-and declares to Mr. and Mrs. Bennet that she will remain a spinster for life. Intrigued by this remarkable transformation, Elizabeth Darcy invites Mary to Pemberley, where Mary falls into an incredible adventure that could be torn from the pages of one of her favorite Gothic novels.
