Marriages of Norfolk County, Virginia, 1706-1792

In 1691 Lower Norfolk County was divided into the new counties: Norfolk and Princess Anne. It is believed that 60% of these early settlers of Lower Norfolk County (1637) were indentured servants coming from overseas. These marriage records start with the earliest known surviving marriages for the county. It is believed that the earlier dates were lost or destroyed during the Revolutionary War.
