Mark of the Warrior
Sixteen-year-old Jun lives with his father in the city of Cheon in West Longhan, after they were separated from his mother and breathmarked twin brother. Their family was severed due to a horrible mistake Jun made, one that exposed his father's treason on the night city officials visited to recruit his brother and as a punishment they were banished from their home.
Managing to leave the past behind, Jun trains and dreams of competing in the Guardian's Tournament, a competition held every six years to determine who will be named the top warrior of the realm, worthy of protecting the sacred Scroll of Heaven. Not only is Jun eager to prove his skills as the best warrior but winning would also mean status and riches, giving him a way to restore his father's honor and live a better life.
However, Jun's father strictly forbids him from competing in the tournament and he's left with a difficult choice. Determined to be the next Guardian, Jun leaves, stowing away in the wagon of Sifu Chang and his daughter Ren, a pair of performers on their way to the capital where the tournament will take place. Little does he know, that Sifu Chang and Ren are also gifted fighters, belonging to the Silent Flute Society, a secret organization devoted to the peaceful reunification of East and West Longhan and they have a plan of their own when it comes to the tournament.
As Jun competes, he soon finds himself tangled up in political conspiracy and treason, realizing every victory he claims and every choice he makes, can have a greater impact on shaping the destiny of the land and those he loves more than he could ever imagine.
