The campaign succeeded in seizing Damietta at the beginning, which was during the reign of Sultan Al -Saleh, the star of religion, who died during the Crusader invasion, then the campaign tried to go extending to Cairo, but it met a fierce confrontation from the Muslims there. The campaign ended, and its extension stopped at the defeat that was caused by the French army there, and the captain Louis the ninth was captured as well.
