Man Lernt Nie Aus - Schottland 1974-79

Experiences as a German postgraduate student for the Master of Science (M.Sc.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)degrees at the University of Stirling in Scotland are described. Courses in Aquatic Veterinary Studies were taken at the Unit of Aquatic Pathobiology under guidance of Prof. Ronald Roberts and Research was conducted concerning the effects of Blood-Parasites on Fishes kept in Mariculture and possible vectors. The newly discovered parasite was contrasted to Toxoplasma gondii (pathogenic for animals & humans)and described as Haemogregarina sachai Kirmse 1978.
