A study on the effects of Mammon brings us from King Henry to the high seas, toward Jerusalem's King Baldwin II during a year marked by three Popes. The objective is the acquisition of gold and silver to fuel an empire's vision. Along the journey, Jonah is picked up from some forsaken Mediterranean corner of France, becoming the voyage's conscience as plots thickens and the crew is steered toward the consideration of salvation by grace through Jesus Christ alone.
