The decision to put-to-sleep a beloved pet is an emotional minefield of confusion, heart-break, and anguish. For many pet owners, the need to make the determination of when is the right time to euthanize their beloved cat or dog--or any other animal--is very likely the hardest choice they and their family may ever have to make. As a veterinarian who has stood on the other side of an exam table for the last 25 years watching my treasured clients deal with this most difficult of issues, I've learned a lot about their thought process with regards to euthanasia.
