This is a memoir of the life of a simple man named Ray McCright with added thoughts from his sons and his granddaughters.Raised to the hard work and long days of a mule-farm in Saline County Arkansas, toughened during the Great Depression, and with a deep-set value system that included his obligation to defend his country, he became part of Tom Brokow's Greatest Generation. Off to New York with the U. S. Army and then England, France, Belgium, and Germany, he took his epic journey. After suffering through the trials of World War II, Ray McCright returned to his wife and young son to continue his adventure through life.This is the love story of our parents Ray and Marguerite McCright. They were well suited to each other and she was a great influence on his life. People with strong Christian values, they shepherded the editors, their sons, through a wonderful life.This story includes life and education during the 20's and 30's in rural America through the horrors, fears, deprivations, and separation of World War II and on into the 21st century.It is an American story as well.
