Sophie seems to have life figured out-a successful, seven-year career at Mortgage Tech, a fiery new romance with a Hollywood stuntman, and a killer shoe collection. When she suddenly loses her job to corporate reorganization, and her heartthrob, Nick, leaves her in a hotel suite in Las Vegas to celebrate her birthday alone, she is faced with the big question of what to do next. By a twist of fate, Sophie is offered a ten-day cruise out of Galveston to write about chocolate at ports of call in Mexico, the Cayman Islands, Jamaica, the Bahamas, and Belize-just the lavish excursion she needs to clear her mind. As she jumps on this dream assignment to follow her passion for chocolate, Sophie is sent on an adventure full of danger, desire, and exotic bonbons. She encounters a smooth Latin lounge singer, a gorgeous French chocolate shop owner, a high school principal, and a fugitive from the law. But her thoughts inevitably circle around to what to do about Nick. When she gets back from her assignment, she will have to ask herself, Do I have to choose between love and chocolate?
