This book aims, in light of Antonie Compagnon's studies on the relationship between the world and literature; Ian Watt's considerations on the origins and rise of the novel and realism, and Franco Moretti's assumptions about the genre's innovative narrative methods, to outline a brief theoretical-analytical-critical overview covering the emergence, influences, and social and historical implications of the Novel and Formal Realism genres.
