Peter George, charismatic academic, idealist, lover of life, is dead. His wife, two ex-wives and daughter gather for his funeral. As the true nature of the man and his life unfolds, so these women discover more than they bargained for about the lives they have lived both in and out of his shadow.

Hannie Rayson's play Life After George was first staged in January 2000 by Melbourne Theatre Company at The Fairfax, Victorian Arts Centre, Melbourne. It had its British premiere in January 2002 at the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre, Guildford, before playing at the Duchess Theatre, London.
