When Balastar Alder rescues the pugnacious Kit Athorika on the planet Florin-5 he doesn't know she's his psi-mate. By the time they bond, portals across the galaxy are failing, her planet is attacked and her people have been taken by the Portal Masters. Attempting to find them, Kit herself is abducted. Balastar has to get her back and save her home world. That, or die trying.
