Left in the Shadows

This book is a factual account breathing life into the untold story of John Bridgetower. Born in 1754 on a Jamaican plantation, the son of an enslaved Abyssinian prince. It presents quotes, newspaper articles and archived material documenting a timeline of historical events.

By his own account we can deduce his influence in Europe and the Haitian Revolution. The events of the time led John on an incredible journey moving through the upper echelons of society, whilst promoting his son George, a violin prodigy, who had been performing for European royalty since he was six years old.
