This work is based on Jonathan Gledhill's own experience of ministry, in particular at St Mary Bredin, Canterbury, which experienced spectacular and sustained growth under his leadership. Anecdotal in style, the book acts as a blueprint for any church leader wanting to create a busy, thriving church. The first part of the book discusses issues and definitions of leadership, power within the church and worship. This discussion forms the intellectual basis of the second section, which is about the practical aspects of leadership including sermon preparation, housegroups, youth and children, mission and evangelism, church planting, social responsibility and managing volunteers, money and buildings.
