Aussi voudrais-je ne pas ecrire cette histoire qui serait fastidieuse; mais seulement noter, sans suite ni transitions, des instants qui m'ont frappe d'une etrange maniere, qui m'ont frappe tellement que je m'en souviens encore avec une nettete complete, aujourd'hui que j'ai oublie deja tant de choses poignantes, et tant de lieux, tant d'aven tures, tant de visages.
