Kortney has been writing poetry ever since she can remember picking up a pencil. For years she has compiled journals and notebooks full of amazing poetry, songs, and stories. Last Woman Standing is the cornucopia of art work that she has been accumulating her whole life. In this book her most intimate thoughts are revealed, which makes opening this poetry book like peering into the mirror of her very soul. She bears all in this vulnerable yet strong collection of deeply personal poetry. In her down to earth and keepin' it real style, Kortney explains her take on life as a woman, mother, daughter, sister, lover and human being. The diverse topics range from spiritual to motivational, then from darkness and depression to love and erotica. Each poem embodies the essence, charisma, boldness and distinctiveness of Ms. King. In 2010, Kortney earned a Bachelor's degree in English & Creative Writing from Savannah State University. In 2011 Courtney founded Floetry Savannah's Spoken Word Society.
