ENGLISH DESCRIPTION

MUSIC IS NEITHER CREATED NOR DESTROYED. ONLY TRANSFORMED.

If you had to explain to an alien what music is, how would you do it? It wouldn't be easy, right? Because music is a part of life since the day we are born, like the songs that mark our first love and our first breakup, even the songs some people choose to depart. Music reminds us of better days, of all those places and people that evoke such heavy emotions we want to sing, and scream, and turn the volume all the way up. We know it--music is the universal language, free of cultural and idiomatic boundaries, that touches on our deepest self.

The Music that Defines Us, my first book, is not intended as a historical document nor a musicology thesis. On the contrary, it is an invitation to have fun and read countless stories and interesting facts to help us understand how on earth does something as simple as a song, end up transforming our world.
