Katie Corn

Mississippi is on the cusp of great change, and Katie Cornett swirls at its center. She's fourteen, though, and only wants a normal life on the farm where she grew up. Those hopes collapse after her father is accused of a controversial killing and Katie and her mother are uprooted. As the women scramble to build new lives, both must confront their roles in triggering the violence that has upended them. But despite doubt, hardship, and separation, Katie never gives up on her family or her dreams.
