Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. Professor Max Muller has been kind enough to allow me to reprint the very beautiful letter which he wrote to the Times on the death of one of our members, the young Japanese Buddhist Scholar at Oxford, Kenjiu Kasawara. This will I trust become a precedent with us; and I knew Mr. Kasawara well enough to appreciate how well he deserves all that his Professor says of him.
