In a time when gender identity is believed to be limited to two options, the young George fears that her family's reputation will be ruined if the world finds out that she prefers to wear men's clothing. As if that weren't enough, she has just inherited an estate that is on the verge of bankruptcy, and her feelings for her best friend, Eleanor, have become increasingly complicated.

Eleanor always wants to do everything the right way, even when it comes to falling in love. So far, she hasn't met any guy that interests her, so for now, she spends her days with her beloved cousin Charlotte and the most important person to her: George. But everything changes when the search for a suitor finally sparks her curiosity, putting her relationship with George at risk and leading her to question what is "right" and face feelings she never knew she had.
