Into All the Parish

Arising out of the Pioneering Parishes Project, Into All the Parish holds together pioneering and parochial forms of ministry which are frequently in tension. It honours both as distinct yet connected modes of ministry, seeing pioneering as an integral dynamic within vibrant parochial ministry and essential for widening the possibilities to fulfil the ‘care of souls’ in a local area. For parish churches that wish to become more outward looking but feel under resourced and overstretched, it aims to equip clergy, church officers and congregations to renew the foundations of local ministry through honest conversation, thoughtful reflection and spiritual discernment about the kind of people they aspire to be for God in their community. It offers practical principles, stories and case studies that demonstrate adaptability and creativity, and tools for conversation and reflection. Into all the Parish offers a framework for corporate discipleship in which congregations identify their aspiration, commit to live out of shared values, and create space to pursue ministry within and beyond the church walls.
