Integrated Spatial and Energy Planning

This book focuses on spatial planning - an important determinantof energy saving and renewable energy supply. Revealing the key driving forcesfor spatial development supporting the shift towards energy efficiency andrenewable energy supplies, it shows the importance of integrated spatial andenergy planning approaches for a timely and sustainable change of energysystems, thus supporting policies of climate protection. As operating withinthe context of renewable energy sources is becoming a major policy issue at theinternational, European and national level, spatial dimensions of renewableenergy systems as well as challenges, barriers and opportunities in differentspatial contexts become more important.
