Inside the Lines (1915) is a novel by Earl Deer Biggers and Robert Welles Ritchie that deals with an intrigue to blow up the English squadron at Gibraltar by gaining access to the room where the electrical contact with the harbor mines is made, and on this background Mr. Biggers paints a picture of the scenes following the outbreak of the war which is full of interest. It is a World War I spy story with believable details of Gibraltar in 1914. Not as clichéd as many such books of the period and the plot is exciting. A real page turner.

Earl Derr Biggers (1884-1933) was an American novelist and playwright. He is remembered primarily for his novels, especially those featuring the Chinese American detective Charlie Chan, from which popular films were made in the United States and China.
