Ink Wash Portraits of U.S. Presidents

In the United States, black and white portraits are usually drawn with pencil, charcoal or pen, but I found ink wash, which is a traditional Chinese painting technique, is good for drawing portraits. To demonstrate this technique, I present portraits of 45 US presidents in this book, all drawn using Chinese brush ( c ) and Chinese ink (a ). The ink was made by rubbing an ink stick against the ink stone. While ink wash is usually understood as ink washed on paper, in fact, I washed ink on an ink stone.
