In Defense of the Nurse Practitioner: Removing Barriers to Practice

This short scholarly essay examines, in great detail, the rationale for releasing the advanced practice nurse from their current scope of practice binds, strongly favoring the autonomous nursing practice model of care. The tides are turning; the time to give qualified nurse practitioners the autonomy they deserve to provide advanced nursing care is now -- the totality of the available evidence unanimously supports this position.
