Not long ago I retreated for a few days to my desert cabin. I started looking through a stack of my old journals from the 70s and 80s, and what struck me was that what I was saying to myself on a spiritual level is as relevant now as it was then. The quotes relate specifically to the accompanying Mandala. Since childhood Ive been fascinated by the concept of the soul and its unfolding. Over the years, spiritual teachers, mandalas, and personal art captured and inspired me to reflect on my lifes daily lessons. Four children, professor husband, studying for a Masters degree, financial challenges, all the life is daily work was my life, all the while exploring the interior life. Who looks outside, dreams. Who looks inside, awakens. (Jung) Awakening to a more compassionate awareness of self and others is what its all about. Ive learned that who I am is much more entertaining than who I want to be.
