Identifying Gaps and Opportunities to Advance Gender Equality in Viet Nam's Water Sector

This report shows how Viet Nam's water sector can boost gender equality and become more resilient by implementing gender inclusive policies, adopting strategies to increase women's leadership, and taking steps to tackle workplace segregation. It notes that women make up a third of the workforce but only 7% of leadership roles, identifies gaps and opportunities, and outlines measures the Vietnam Water Supply and Sewerage Association can take to maximize the potential of its workforce. Using survey data from 45 companies, it shows how reducing occupational segregation, improving facilities, and tackling sexual harassment can help institutionalize gender equality and support the industry's development.
