Book three of the novel gives a backstory explanation of the development of artificial intelligence, which explores the paradoxical reasoning behind the morality that guides all A.I.s to prevent them from becoming the soul-less killers that they have been predicted they could become. Because of this, it delves heavily into theology with its conclusions and therefore presents several reasons for the use of theological principles to prevent A.I. from attempting to replace its creators with itself
