Human rights protection mechanisms in Africa

Africa currently faces a number of challenges. One of these major challenges is undoubtedly the promotion and protection of human rights. The realisation of human rights requires the combined efforts of all participants in society: individuals, States and other public and private entities, as well as active international cooperation. In this age of globalisation and advanced technology, all countries aspire to a better life for their citizens, and this is only possible if human rights and the rights of peoples are well protected.
