We talked about recognizing how we want to feel, before we decide where we want to go or who we want to be. I believe the easiest way to make that happen, is to begin recognizing and savouring the moments that make you feel happy, confident, kind or relaxed. These are the moments that can lead you from where you are now to where you want to be. Becoming more aware of those moments and how they feel, will help you build a reservoir of positive emotions, and can increase the likelihood that you will want to recognize and recreate those emotions in the future. It's like resetting your emotional compass to point to positive rather than negative, which positive psychology studies show can increase your creativity and your ability to think broadly.
