People get the idea that it is good for other people to study the Bible. You know, professionals like pastors or youth directors. But Bible studyis one of those non-negotiable spiritual disciplines we need in our lifeto properly grow spiritually. As for me, I put my own little twist on Bible study. It s like beinga detective, searching for clues, coming to the right conclusions, andthen acting on what I learned. Like everyone else, I love trying to solvemysteries, and let s be honest, the Bible is somewhat of a mystery, evento those who have studied it for years. There are many good books out there demonstrating how to interpretand understand the Bible. Some go very deep in their explanations,while others stay closer to the surface. This book is designed to keepthings simple, to give you a framework for how to understand theBible. To begin, you will find some tools and methods available forunderstanding the Bible. There will also be detective work for you to tryout your new skills. Then, in the second section, we will go through theentire Bible, looking at some of its structure and listening to witnessesto God s presence recorded in the Bible. We will find that there is acommon theme throughout the Bible. It is hoped that you will have a desire to gain more knowledge as theBible interacts with your life.
