This book focuses on advances in cardiovascular research. Chapter 1 discusses the cardiovascular effects of purslane supplementation as well as the properties, biological effects, and proposed mechanisms of action of purslane and its secondary metabolites. Chapter 2 focuses on reviewing the most significant scientific advancements in current alternative therapies for managing CVDs, emphasizing the bioactive molecules found in herbal and marine plants. Chapter 3 will explore the clinical evidence and a general overview of semaglutide's role in cardiovascular protection, the mechanism of action, and the implications for the management of patients with cardiovascular risk with the diagnosis of type 2 diabetes.
