The Spanish Civil War was the first time that Orwell experienced the cruelty and depression of the war and laid the foundation for his anti-war keynote in his later works.It can be imagined that Orwell, a literati who has never set foot in politics, is suffering from inner strife, helplessness and despair when facing cruel ideological struggles and political uniting with those of the same views but alienating those with different views.After witnessing many of the friends who had fought together with him and did not die on the front, but were died of persecution of people on their own side, Orwell was suspicious of the political system of the Soviet Union and embarked on a path against the totalitarian regime.In this sense, the melting pot of the Spanish Civil War prompted Orwell's creative enthusiasm and talent in rethinking the internal system and human nature from accusing the presentational injustice of the outer world.The distortions of the Spanish Civil War of the Third International, the Spanish government and the British media, and the way of manipulating the popularization means for certain private purposes prompted Orwell to think about the authenticity of the history, and reflect on the historical manipulation of totalitarianism in the Nineteen Eighty-Four.In 1946, Orwell wrote:"e;Since 1936, every line of serious creation I have carried out is against the totalitarian system directly or indirectly, and to publicize and call for a democratic socialist system."e;
