Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. The successful sale of the first edition, and the gratifying demand for a second, has now given opportunity for this addition, which is certainly appropriate in a local history; for without citizens there would be neither city nor history, and brief biographies of representatives of various classes of its business and professional men will give a fairly representative idea of the city.
