Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. It was proposed to include other material than that here given but the demand for the book has been so pressing, and the delay of publication has already been so great, that it is thought best to leave this additional material for a later edi tion. The principal lexicons, concordances and similar books have been used in making out these lists. In former editions my brother, Mr. Robert F. Harper, and in this edition my friend, Mr. A. S. Carrier, have rendered valuable aid in the work of collecting and arranging words. Great care has been taken to make the lists accurate but it is reasonable to suppose that omissions and errors will be found. Corrections will be thankfully received.
