Global Warming and the Power of Garbage

The earth's warming rate is much faster than 100 years ago. Now there's a vital need for action in reducing carbon dioxide levels. The answer is not more conventional landfills, incineration, or transporting trash to distant Third World countries. This short read presents a radical proposal that builds on simple scientific premises: a deep underground storage solution for our carbon-based waste. We can reduce carbon dioxide release into the atmosphere while letting society dispose of waste more cheaply than before. And create domestic jobs, including in hard-hit sectors.
