Virginia is driven towards abusive relationships because of intense feelings of lonliness and an underlying sense of emptyness which is only relieved by sexual excesses. She seeks help from therapists as she flees across the country. Each of her lovers are murdered. Baffled by her own behavior, and amnesic during the killings, she desperately seeks help.
