When did trash become trash? The minute someone didn't want an object anymore? Or when the object was no longer of use to the individual? All trash didn't start out as trash. It was once valuable and had meaning. It was used to hold and protect the most valuable things. Just because someone doesn't want something anymore; or, they don't understand its value or purpose, doesn't mean that the object is trash. Therefore, we must be careful how we discard things. Now, if this is true about things, how much more important is this concept as it relates to you and me and other Princesses who will read this book. So many times, we devalue ourselves and those around us. And when we fail to take the time to know our true selves, we make hasty decisions, misuse our opportunities and ourselves to the point of abuse, all because we failed to behold the beauty that was buried by layers of deceit, hurt and pain When I can't see my own beauty, everything around me becomes distorted - my lens then becomes the lens of someone else. When this happens, a TRANSFORMATION of the mind MUST take place. Girl, Recycled is a parable that illustrates this TRANSFORMATION in the lives of eight girls.
