Jessica Holter's Art & Haiku Book: A Fusion of Poetry and Visual Art

Jessica Holter's haiku poetry is beautifully complemented by colorful and captivating visual art from her "Art & Rhymes of Ghetto Girl Blue" Collection in "Ghetto Girl Blue's Art Book." This 100-page coffee table topper is not only a feast for the eyes but also a thought-provoking conversation starter. If you're familiar with the poet's work, you won't find flowery fluff in her simple 5-7-5 lines; instead, you can expect the raw urban grit that the founder of The Punany Poets is known for worldwide.

About Jessica Holter: The First Lady of Urban Black Erotic Poetry

In 1995, Jessica Holter shocked the world of Spoken-Word speakeasies by creating "The Punany Project." She added exotic dance and theatrics to her controversial live performances, which were later filmed by HBO's Real Sex producers. Born in Oakland, she used her artistry to raise AIDS awareness within the Black Community. Today, Jessica continues her impactful work through publications and live shows across America and the Caribbean.

Excerpts:

Pulpit Woman

Nose high, perfume loud
Woman, thou befoul pulpits,
Most beguiling minx,

Thy robe cannot shroud,
Thoughts lurking about thick hips,
Temptation betwixt.

No-Fly List

Fiery friendly skies,
We, too many, lost our wings,
When the towers fell.
