The terrible war now being enacted in Europe, and especially on the Western front, has necessarily to some extent monopolized the attention of the English public and subordinated the interest in the more distant theatres of war. But it is not unlikely that the breaking-up of the German Colonial Empire will prove to be the vital achievement for the British race and the one fraught with the most far-reaching consequences to the future of the world.<br><br>When the prospect of peace allows this to be realized it is hoped that this little book may be found useful. Meanwhile it may have some interest to the many who have associations with special portions of our own colonial Empire.
