Georgy Girl

Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda) is the most powerful typhoon in history to ever reach land. It struck the Philippines islands of Leyte and Samar in August 2013. Everything in the typhoon's path was hammered hard. It's destructive forces caused massive devastation and numerous deaths. Some coastal towns disappeared off the map with no sign of life anywhere afterwards. Georgy Girl is a portrayal of the effect Typhoon Yolanda had on people who were in its path. It highlights the plight of people who were displaced and lost everything they had. It is a story that touches upon the human spirit and how people survive and triumph through adversity.
