Gender approach related to occupational accidents in Brazil

Occupational diseases and accidents at work have been occurring since ancient times, but over the years, accident prevention and concern for workers' health have gained prominence due to the large number of accidents recorded and, consequently, increased social security spending on benefits and pensions. Considering this parameter, the inclusion of women in the labor market has been slow, as has the achievement of labor benefits. Even today, women still earn lower salaries than men when occupying the same positions or performing the same functions, and little is known about the occurrence of accidents and occupational diseases related to both sexes. Therefore, the objective was to investigate how occupational accidents and illnesses are being recorded, at what age they occur most frequently, and which gender has the highest incidence rate, and whether women are among the most frequent victims compared to men.
