Fuel briquettes are rightfully considered the fuel of the 21st century, the number of its consumers in various countries of the world is growing every year. The need for solid fuel is steadily increasing. Environmental tension in coal-mining regions is largely determined by the high level of waste from coal mining and processing. Among all types of waste, the most important in terms of their use are fine-grained anthracite fines, fine coal sludge, coal fines. The qualitative characteristics of such wastes are not worse than those of mined coal, which makes them a potential type of fuel. The stocks of waste are comparable with the operating deposits. Other combustible technogenic raw materials are wood and plant residues. Utilization of carbon-containing technogenic raw materials becomes relevant not only for individual regions, but also for the entire coal industry of any country. Briquetting of combustible technogenic raw materials is an effective way to solve the current situation, having a beneficial effect on the ecology of the natural environment. The book summarizes long-term results of theoretical and experimental research on the technology of briquetting of various physical nature, structure, composition, properties of carbon-containing materials with a certain energy potential. Great importance is attached to the development of a binder composition. The influence of various technological factors on the briquetting ability of technogenic raw materials has been revealed. The optimal briquetting regimes for obtaining fuel briquettes with high consumer properties are substantiated. Using the proposed briquetting technology, it is possible to obtain fuel briquettes with high consumer properties, competitive in the domestic and world markets.
