From culture to inculturation...

How to receive Jesus Christ whose "sovereign" Word has taken a crest path to come to us. Why did she choose to take the winding and steep roads of Western culture, slavery, colonization to reach Africa in Cameroon, among the Beti? This question obviously remains unanswered, as God is not accountable to us. So it makes sense to take it as it really is. And they inform us that the earliest proclamations of the gospel message, although they did gain a foothold in the continent, were questionable. For this reason, we have allowed ourselves to offer a new way of welcoming the Gospel. Here is the itinerary: from culture to inculturation, a methodological approach that we consider effective, in announcing the Word of life in Africa, among the Beti, in Cameroon. In this new approach, we draw a reflexive and critical parallel between the Catholic septenary and the stages of existence in African cultures, where the life that the Gospel rightly advocates constitutes the driving force behind the explanation of reality.
