The Aim of this Study Guide, Red Dog, True Blue, Man, is to explore the status of being a man among men. The Pilbara breeds men that are alpha men, leaders and providers. In context of the 1960s men were empowered by education to become equalizers: no matter which social strata they emerged from they could contribute to the pool of influence in significant seats of power. Mick in particular is challenged to become a man among men.
