Free Spirit's Enlightenment Guide

Enlightenment is simple once you know what it is. It's to see yourself as the pure being you are away from everything you've ever been brainwashed by. Sounds simple but many people live an entire lifetime and not realize they are pure beings with their own true natures who do not owe anything to the people or the society around them except to pay bills and follow the laws.Most but not all misery comes from not being who you are in your natural state. Watch any animal. Cage him up, he gets depressed and angry. Let him be free and he's happy. After I found enlightenment, I made a pact with God that I would live out my life trying to be who He created me to be in my purest, positive, productive state.Enlightenment by itself doesn't make you happy because you still have the basic simple material needs of constantly needing to earn money to pay your way through. Even me, as an esthetic-spiritual guy, I still have to earn money, I need a certain amount of material goods for basic comfort, I have to go to the supermarket and do the regular tasks of life.I live by a natural intuitive standard given by God at birth. As long as I release this natural energy inside of me on a daily basis, I feel pretty good. I earn a sense of well-being and self-respect but I get lazy which is one of Dante Allegheri's seven deadly sins. I think of a drug addict trying to kick a habit. They lose their way a lot but keep coming back to try to kick it over and over again.I do positive, wholesome things for a while then I go off and be a lazy glutton for a bit then I go back to being who I am.All those self-help gurus fail miserably. They talk about life as some mechanical one-liner reach for success like a straight arrow, get up every day, focus on your goals. It doesn't work because it's artificial as opposed to natural. Even the term success is artificial. I remember some woman on TV talking about the guys on the cover of Forbes magazine as alpha males. To me, they're brainwashed guys following the system's ideas of success, not having the courage, willpower and inspiration to do their own thing away from society's junk.
