Forever a Stranger

Forever A Stranger is a story of love, war and family breakdown and follows the lives of three generations in crisis during the 20th century.

Sid Shavinsky and Esther Kopitch are children when they flee the pogroms of Russia and Poland with their parents in 1904. Both families settle in the East End of London.

Sid and Esther marry. Sid fights for Britain in World War One and returns home a changed man, an amputee suffering from post-traumatic stress syndrome. The war destroys their marriage and their future.

Two decades later their daughter Julie gives birth to an illegitimate baby after her fianc disappears. He fled Nazi Germany in 1939.
