Flyygrl'S Brooklyn

In the first of a series of books, youll read about a young girl who goes by the name of Flyygrl. Flyygrl grew up in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, during a time when poverty had taken her neighborhood by storm. As a result, Flyygrl was subjected to adversity at a very young age. Independent of economic and social disadvantages, Flyygrl also experienced discrimination and social implications that she had to overcome in order to pursue what she had wanted more than anything in the worldto acquire an education and to be the first in her family to finish college. She was driven by her desire to break the cycle for herself, her family, and her peers, as well as generations to come. In this series, you will learn of a young girl who, despite her disadvantages, developed an unwavering spirit to overcome obstacles in order to reach her goals and, all the while, learned to love and appreciate everything that Brooklyn had to offer.
