Growing up in the villages of Cameroon, Central Africa, in the 50s and 60s, family was at the core of everything. After a day of addressing the basic needs of survival, family gathered around a fire built with three rocks placed close together in a triangle, to roast corn and tropical plums while the elders of the household told stories. This was the purest in quality family time, strengthening the bond between family members. Fireside Fables is a collection of some of those stories from the Bakossi Tribe of Cameroon. These stories will transport the reader to a simpler time, and provide insight into the lives of the Bakossi Tribe, their origins, their trials and tribulations, and their proud culture... a culture that is still celebrated around the world by their tribes-people to this day.
